The course runs along a lake, so expect water views for most of the route. The surroundings are quiet and wooded in the way that small upstate towns tend to be, with the lakefront doing most of the visual work.
After the race, there is a buffet, live music on the lakefront, and post-race beer. It is the kind of finish area where people stay a while rather than heading straight to the parking lot.
