About the East Fork 100mi, 100K, 50K, and 15mi

The course loops a lake on trail through East Fork State Park, mixing singletrack, mountain bike paths, and occasional park road. The terrain rolls constantly without any single brutal climb, but the accumulated ups and downs add up. Along the way there are lake views, wooded corridors, open meadows, a waterfall in a pine forest, and creek crossings that runners tend to appreciate on a warm day.

Crews can meet longer-distance runners at several points around the loop, and pacers are permitted from certain aid stations onward. Drop bags are accepted at the nature center aid station. The main start and finish area serves as the crew hub for each loop.

Common Questions About the East Fork 100mi, 100K, 50K, and 15mi

Will I finish last at the East Fork 100mi, 100K, 50K, and 15mi?

Almost certainly not. Half the 50K field finished slower than 8:45:26, and the last recorded finisher came in around 15:57:03, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the East Fork 100mi, 100K, 50K, and 15mi a good first 50K?

It is a small race (68 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 50K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the East Fork 100mi, 100K, 50K, and 15mi?

The 50K winner ran 5:28:20 while the median finisher took 8:45:26. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
