About the East Canyon Marathon - 26.2 - 13.1 - 10K - 5K
The full marathon begins at a mountain pass with views back toward Salt Lake City, then drops east through pine and aspen forest alongside a reservoir. The route eventually turns into Red Rock Canyon, with unusual rock formations lining the way, before opening into farmland, grain fields, and old barns near the finish at the county fairgrounds. The shorter distances run an out-and-back from that same fairgrounds.
Buses carry full and half marathon runners to their respective start lines, and those areas are otherwise closed to personal vehicles. Packet pickup runs the evening before at a location to be announced, with a same-day option at the fairgrounds for a small additional fee payable by cash or digital payment. Awards follow the finish at the fairgrounds.
