The course starts and finishes at a minor league baseball stadium in downtown Dayton, which gives the morning an unusual backdrop. The route runs through the surrounding streets, so you get a sense of the city rather than a park loop. Electronic chip timing means age group results are taken seriously, with store gift cards going to the top finishers in each category.
Packet pickup runs the two days before at the stadium box office, with a race-morning option available near the same spot starting early. The virtual option lets you run wherever you like and submit your time afterward, with pickup at the box office in the days following the race available if you prefer not to pay for shipping.
