The race starts at Newport City Park and heads out onto Rankin Road, a road course that turns around and brings you back into the park. It is a straightforward out-and-back on city streets, marked with signs along the way. The park setting gives the start and finish a little breathing room, and the race honors a physician who served Newport for decades.
