About the Dothan Firefighters Going for the Gold
The course starts and finishes at Water World, an outdoor water park on the edge of Dothan. The race is part of a series that connects several local events through the year, and this one draws runners alongside walkers and ruckers. Proceeds go toward a childhood cancer support program, which gives the morning a specific weight beyond the miles.
After the race, the parking lot stays busy. A firefighter fire truck pull follows the finish, and the water park opens up for a family day on site. It is a full morning if you bring kids, and the post-race activity is built into the event rather than tacked on.
