About the Dogwood-Azalea Festival 5k
The course winds through residential streets near Rolwing Park, heading out through the town center and looping back along a handful of named streets before returning to where you started. The route is road the whole way and stays flat throughout. Police officers are stationed at intersections, and coned lanes keep runners separated from traffic.
The race shares the park with the town's annual Dogwood Azalea Festival, so there is activity around the start and finish beyond just the race itself. Packet pickup and registration both happen at the Scout Cabin at the park's corner entrance. Trophies go to overall winners, and age group awards reach deep into the field. There is also a named cup for the youngest finisher in each gender.
