About the Diabetes Awareness 5K (Stockton)
The race takes place at Michael Faklis Park, put on by the local Leo-Lions Club around diabetes awareness. The course is a standard road and path setup through the park, open to runners and walkers. The field draws families and community members with a personal connection to diabetes, so expect a wide mix of paces and purposes.
At the end of the race, your bib doubles as a raffle ticket for prizes drawn on site, so it is worth staying around after you finish. The organizers run the event rain or shine, which tells you something about how seriously they take it.
