The course runs through Lovell Canyon in the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area, starting around sunset and carrying on into the dark. Pinyon juniper trees line the trail, and once the light goes the sky opens up with stars. The Las Vegas glow is visible in the distance, which makes for a strange and genuinely interesting contrast out on a mountain trail.
