About the Depot Days Rail Run 5K

The race runs through downtown Newbern and is named for the old rail depot that anchors the area. It exists to honor two men who kept it going for decades, and proceeds still go to the food pantry and laundry ministry they supported at the local Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Bringing canned goods or laundry pods on race day is encouraged.

The start area is on West Main Street in downtown Newbern, with race-morning registration available before the gun. Several events run back to back, from a short kids' run up through the main distance, so families with younger runners have their own moment on the course too.
