About the Delta Junction Barley Half Marathon
The course starts near a barley mill and loops through agricultural land on gravel roads and dirt trails, with no pavement at all. Expect uneven ground and possibly muddy patches, though the route is mostly flat with a few gentle rises. Long straightaways cut through fields of barley and fireweed, with mountain views opening up on clear stretches.
Post-race food and drinks are set up at the mill, and there is ice cream from a local store nearby. Aid stations are spaced out along the course. Chip timing is handled by a local timing company, and race photos are included.
