About the Death by 5k Oregon
Death by 5k Oregon takes place at Elijah Bristow State Park, outside Dexter. The format is a endurance challenge: participants run the same course repeatedly across a full day and night, with mandatory rest windows in between. Some loops happen in full dark, so a headlamp is not optional. The course itself is at a state park, which suggests trail or path running through natural surroundings.
Camp is set up at race headquarters between efforts, with car camping and tent camping both available in the group area. Hot food comes out at several points through the day and night, and snacks are available throughout. This is very much an overnight event, and the sleep deprivation is part of the design.
