About the Deam Lake Winter Warrior
The course runs the Yellow Trail around Deam Lake, starting and finishing near the Buzzards Roost Shelter. It is a shared trail, so you may encounter horses along the way; the organizers ask runners to approach slowly and follow the rider's lead. The terrain is trail running through a state park, with the lake as the backdrop throughout.
Parking at the Buzzards Roost Shelter lot is tight, and the organizers strongly encourage carpooling. Overflow parking is available at the main lot, though it means a walk to the start. Packet pickup happens on-site at the shelter the morning of the race. The event is cupless, so bring a handheld or vest. Post-race, there is water and a spread of packaged snacks at the finish area.
