About the Deal's Orchard Spiked Apple 5k
The course winds through the farm and orchard itself, past flower fields and apple trees, on cross-country terrain with some uneven ground underfoot. It is not a road race: expect grass, dirt, and the kind of footing that rewards trail shoes over road flats. The route does a couple of loops, so you pass the finish area before you are done.
After you finish, there are cider donuts and a pour of hard cider at the post-race area. Deal's Orchard makes their cider from apples grown on the property, and they offer a wide range of flavors, so the post-race part has some genuine draw beyond just catching your breath.
