About the Day of the Dead Half Marathon - Tulsa
The course runs through a park along the river, weaving past lakes and tree cover on a double out-and-back layout. The surroundings stay natural and quiet for most of the route, though the finish brings a crowd. A costume contest happens before the start, with runners showing up in Día de los Muertos face paint and skeletal costumes, so the starting area has a different energy than most mornings.
The post-race rally tent has live music, a DJ calling finishers by name, and Mexican food and drinks. Awards are handed out there in person. The pre-race costume judging happens at the start area, so arriving a little early is worth it if you want to see the full lineup.
