About the DAVE'S ELEMENTARY CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIP

This is a cross country championship for elementary school kids, kindergarten through sixth grade, held at a high school. Races are staged by grade and gender throughout the afternoon, with younger runners covering a shorter loop and older kids running a longer one. Points are tallied across all the races to crown an overall school district champion.

Individual awards go to top finishers in each race, and every participant receives recognition as well. The event is organized by a local running shop, and teams are encouraged, so schools can show up together and compete for the championship trophy as a group.
