About the Dashing Thru The Glow

This is an evening holiday race through downtown Wilmington, routed along the Cape Fear River and past the Christmas light displays. Parts of the course run through darker stretches, so a headlamp is worth tucking in your pocket. There is a costume contest for the most festive outfit, Santa and Mrs. Claus at the start area, and a drone show over the water after the race wraps up.

Packet pickup happens the evening before at Fleet Feet on Carolina Beach Road. Race-day pickup opens about an hour before the start at the Live Oak Bank Pavilion on Cowan Street. Parking downtown fills fast; carpooling or arriving early helps. Several specific streets are closed for the course and unavailable for parking, so check the organizer's parking map before you drive in.
