About the Dash for DVA 5K walk/run
The course runs an approved campus route, starting at an arch and finishing back at the catafount, a central campus landmark. The terrain is on-campus roads and paths, making it a straightforward out-and-back style run through the Western Carolina campus grounds. A clock at the finish lets you track your own time as you come in.
Check-in is at the catafount before the race, where you pick up your bib. The finish line is at the same spot, so the start and end areas are familiar by the time you cross. The race benefits a local domestic violence shelter, with all proceeds going directly to survivor support services.
