About the Dare to Scare 5k & Sweet Treat Fun Run
The course starts at a coastal research institute and runs point-to-point to a community center, so you finish somewhere different from where you begin. The route connects two distinct spots, which gives it a sense of going somewhere rather than looping back. Pre-race festivities happen at the start, and the fun run takes place entirely at the finish-line venue afterward.
Parking works best if you leave your car at the finish and take the shuttle to the start, since the lot at the start stays locked down until the last runner clears. There is no return shuttle, so plan around that. Packet pickup on race morning happens at the finish venue after the main race wraps up.
