About the Dam Site Run
The course runs through fall foliage along a lake area outside LeRoy, and the timing is deliberate: the leaves are usually near peak, which makes the surroundings genuinely worth looking at rather than just something you pass. The route is chip-timed with split tracking, so you get a real picture of how your run went.
The organizers have committed to running the event without single-use plastics, including at the water stops, where paper cups replace the usual bottles. It is a small thing to notice, but it signals that someone thought carefully about how the day is put together.
