About the Dalmatian Run Fest & Dizzy Dalmatian 101

The course runs a paved loop around Marine Creek Lake, repeating it depending on which distance you chose. The terrain is easy underfoot, with no real hills to speak of, and the lake makes for a pleasant backdrop throughout. Because every distance shares the same loop, faster and slower runners stay visible to each other all morning.

The start and finish are off the freeway access road near a community college campus on the west side of Fort Worth. Parking is free at the site. Packet pickup runs at the race location, with options the evenings before and again on race mornings, so there is no need to make a special trip the day before.

Common Questions About the Dalmatian Run Fest & Dizzy Dalmatian 101

Will I finish last at the Dalmatian Run Fest & Dizzy Dalmatian 101?

Almost certainly not. Half the 33.7 Miles field finished slower than 3:45:12, and the last recorded finisher came in around 10:19:52, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Dalmatian Run Fest & Dizzy Dalmatian 101 a good first 33.7 Miles?

It is a small race (60 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 33.7 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Dalmatian Run Fest & Dizzy Dalmatian 101?

The 33.7 Miles winner ran 1:11:38 while the median finisher took 3:45:12. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
