About the CYC Boiling Pot 5K
The race name comes from the Iroquois meaning of Canajoharie, which refers to a circular gorge in the creek just south of the village where the water carved the rock into a natural pot. That gorge is the soul of the event, and the trophies given to age-group winners are made from rocks pulled out of it. The course runs through the village itself.
Mohawk Street gets closed for the start and finish, which opens up the area and makes parking easy. Packet pickup is at a bank on that same street before the race. A free kids run kicks things off, with the main race following shortly after.
