About the Crazy Desert Trail Race
The course runs through San Angelo State Park, where the trails are fast and desert-flat. The park is home to ancient permian tracks preserved in the rock and a Longhorn herd managed by the state wildlife agency, so there is plenty to look at between aid stations. The terrain is dry and open, typical of high desert.
Aid stations are spread across the course with volunteers running each one, and the organizers describe them as fully stocked. The park itself handles most of the logistics, so parking and access are straightforward once you find the main entrance.
