About the Cow Chip Classic Run/Walk
The course crosses the Wisconsin River out of Prairie du Sac, which is a strong opening for any road race. The shorter distance turns around on Golf Road and heads back to town. The longer distance climbs a hill the course calls Heartbreak Hill, then passes a golf course before looping home. Both routes start near Marion Park. The terrain is mostly road.
Packet pickup runs the evening before the race, with race-morning pickup also available at the start area near Marion Park. Refreshments and snacks are out after you finish. The race is held during the Wisconsin State Cow Chip Throw, so the town has a fair amount going on around it.
