About the Cover Your Tracks Forensics 5k Run/Walk
This is a Halloween-morning race held on a college campus, organized by the county forensics division to raise scholarship money for students pursuing forensic science careers. Runners are encouraged to wear costumes, and there is a costume contest with cash prizes for the best-dressed runners who finish the course in their gear.
Packet pickup runs the evening before at the race site parking lot, with race-morning pickup opening before the start. After the race, tables are set up around the forensics building where working forensic scientists talk about their careers, from DNA analysis to crime scene investigation.
