About the Cooper Norcross Run the Bridge Event

The course crosses the Ben Franklin Bridge on closed lanes, turns around on the bridge itself, and comes back over before winding through the streets near the Camden waterfront. The back half takes you past a battleship visitor center and around a marina on a brick promenade. It is a point-to-point-and-back shape with real elevation on the bridge and flat ground once you descend.

Packet pickup runs at several locations in the days before the race, including a local running store in Haddonfield and a Philadelphia running shop, so you have options depending on where you are coming from. The start area is the Camden Athletic Complex on Delaware Avenue, close to the waterfront. Roads close early on race morning, so arriving with time to spare matters.

Common Questions About the Cooper Norcross Run the Bridge Event

Will I finish last at the Cooper Norcross Run the Bridge Event?

Almost certainly not. Half the 10K field finished slower than 1:01:51, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:50:33, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Cooper Norcross Run the Bridge Event a good first 10K?

With 1,704 finishers there are runners at every pace, so you are never out on your own. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 10K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Cooper Norcross Run the Bridge Event?

The 10K winner ran 29:40 while the median finisher took 1:01:51. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
