About the 11th Annual Combat Cancer Walk
The route circles a lake alongside a shopping center, so the surroundings feel polished and easy underfoot. The walk is open to anyone who wants to join, and participants are encouraged to go as far as they feel comfortable rather than push for a specific distance. The morning honors breast and gynecologic cancer survivors and remembers those who have died.
The grounds open early for registration, and the opening ceremony runs before the walk itself begins. Afterward, there are vendors, live music, face painting, and a photo booth set up around the site. Teams and individuals who raised the most funds receive awards at the event.
