About the Colbert Autumn Classic Half Marathon & 4-Mile Loop

The course takes you out onto the back roads around Colbert and Green Bluff, so expect open rural scenery rather than urban streets. It is road running, and the area is hilly enough that this works well as a tune-up for anyone building toward a fall marathon. The shorter loop starts from the school, while the half marathon begins nearby.

The option of an early start for slower half marathon runners is built into the morning, which keeps the course from feeling crowded at the back. Green Bluff is farm country, so the views tend to be at their best when the harvest season overlaps with race day.
