About the Coast Guard Marathon
The course moves through waterfront streets and historic neighborhoods before heading onto the runway at the Coast Guard base, which is the stretch most runners talk about afterward. The route is flat, designed with a Boston qualifier in mind, and the military setting gives it a different atmosphere than a typical city road race.
The weekend spreads across several days and includes an expo, a pasta luncheon before race day, a family festival, and a finish-line celebration with music and food. Background checks are required for base access, so registration closes well before race weekend.
