About the CMP 5K Range Run
The course rolls through a large park just off the interstate, on grounds used for marksmanship programs. It is not flat, there is genuine movement in the terrain throughout, and the setting feels more open and natural than a typical road race. The event supports youth shooting sports, so the crowd around the finish tends to reflect that community.
Packet pickup is available at a location in Anniston on a day earlier in the week, then again in Talladega the day before the race, and once more on race morning before the start. That spread of options makes it easy to plan around a busy schedule.
