About the Churney Gurney 5 Mile Trail Race
The course runs through Gurney Lane Park on natural trails, with a good amount of single track and real elevation change throughout. It is not a flat loop; the ups and downs come at you steadily, and the footing keeps you honest. The start and finish sit just below the park pavilion, which gives the whole morning a central gathering point.
Packet pickup and race-day registration both open at the pavilion well before the start. Parking is spread through the park and easy to find. After the race, there is food, snacks, music, and an awards ceremony, and the pool is open to racers, so families with kids have somewhere to be while you run.
