About the CHS Turkey Trot

The race starts and finishes at the County Distributing building in Sedalia, and several distance options mean the morning works for serious runners and casual walkers alike. Proceeds go toward services for people affected by poverty and developmental disabilities across a broad stretch of Missouri counties, so the turnout tends to reflect that sense of purpose.

Packet pickup runs the evening before at the same location, with race-morning pickup also available. Free parking is on site at the organizer's headquarters, and attendants are there to direct you in.

Common Questions About the CHS Turkey Trot

Will I finish last at the CHS Turkey Trot?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.1 Miles field finished slower than 37:13, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:17:53, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the CHS Turkey Trot a good first 3.1 Miles?

A field of 389 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the CHS Turkey Trot?

The 3.1 Miles winner ran 17:17 while the median finisher took 37:13. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
