About the Chili-Heart 5K Run/2 Mile Walk & Chili Cook-Off
This is a winter road race held at an elementary school, organized by a local educational foundation. A walking distance option runs alongside the run course. The event takes place in the cold season, so expect firm or frozen conditions underfoot and dress in layers.
Registration and packet pickup open early on race morning at the school before the start. Afterward, the school cafeteria hosts a chili cook-off, open both to competitors bringing their own pots and to attendees who just want to taste. It is a natural place to warm up after the run.
