About the Chile & Frijole Hot to Trot 5K & 10K
Both courses start and finish at a brewery on the Arkansas River, which also serves as the festival hub for the weekend. The route crosses a bridge early, which is the one real climb, then drops down onto the river trail and threads through the Riverwalk before looping back. The terrain is mostly flat after that first crossing.
The race falls on the final day of a large chile festival centered on Union Avenue, so downtown is busy and parking is tight. Packet pickup runs the afternoon before at a nearby shop, with race-morning pickup available at the start. The festival itself is right there when you finish.
