About the Cheryl Walk or Run 5K
This race is held in memory of Cheryl Walker, a nurse and runner who loved to hike and spend time with her family. The event has a kids fun run alongside the main course, and the atmosphere reflects the personal story behind it. Proceeds go toward a nursing scholarship started in her name.
A light breakfast is set up for registered runners, and there is music, activities, and games running through the day. It draws families as much as runners, which shapes the feel of the morning.
