About the Charleston Craft Beer Half Marathon - 5K
The course runs through the streets of Summerville, starting and finishing at Hutchinson Square in the historic downtown. The organizers warn you upfront that both the start and finish have a hill, which is a rare bit of honesty. The surroundings are tree-lined Lowcountry streets, and the square itself gives the race a genuine town-center feel rather than a parking-lot one.
Packet pickup runs the evening before at a local venue, with a race-morning option at the start area tent for those who arranged it in advance. The start line has no water, so come prepared. After you finish, the square hosts a craft beer festival with local and regional breweries, live music, and food vendors through midday.
