About the Chad Lovette Memorial Run/Walk
The course runs through Cub Creek Park on trails, which fits the spirit of a race named for someone who loved hiking and the outdoors. It draws people who knew Chad and people who didn't, and the atmosphere reflects both. Proceeds go toward a Relay for Life team, so the racing and the cause are genuinely intertwined.
After the race, the gathering moves to a local spot called Merle's, where there is live music later in the afternoon. That second half of the day is clearly part of the plan, not an afterthought. Day-of registration is available if you haven't signed up ahead of time.
