About the CB Greer Shark run 5k and Jake McHargue One Mile Run

This is a school PTA fundraiser built around a pair of races held back to back on the same morning. The shorter distance is aimed at younger kids, with age categories that go down to the very small, so the start line tends to draw a lot of families. The longer race has a broad awards structure covering a wide age spread.

The race is centered on an elementary school campus, so the start area has that kind of morning energy, parents and kids mixed in with runners warming up.
