About the Captains 5k
The course winds through a university campus, passing through landscaped grounds and by landmarks that alumni will recognize. It is not a point-to-point; you are running through a place people know, which gives it a different feel than a road race through unfamiliar streets.
After the finish, there is a post-race gathering on the lawn outside the Alumni House. It draws a broad crowd, students and graduates and neighbors together, and it runs long enough that sticking around actually makes sense.
