About the Captain Gerald F. DeConto, USN Memorial Scholarship 5k Run/Walk
The course runs from a grocery store plaza out through the Sandwich Marina and beach area, then loops back to where you started. It is a road race on flat ground near the water, with the marina and shoreline keeping things scenic for most of the route. The morning opens with a brief memorial tribute before runners head out.
In-person bib pickup is available the afternoon before the race and again on race morning at the same plaza where the start line is. Both windows close before the gun goes off, so arriving early gives you time to settle in before the tribute begins.
