About the Cape Carteret Turkey Trot
The course runs through the Star Hill area and along the Cape Carteret Trail, staying flat the whole way. Costumes are encouraged, and groups can enter as a flock for a best-dressed competition. Pumpkin pies go to the top finishers and the most creative costumes. This is an untimed event, so pace is entirely up to you.
The start and finish are under a large blue arch at the aquatic and wellness center on Taylor Notion Road. Participants park at the elementary school or the library nearby, both a short walk from the start along a portion of the trail. Packet pickup runs through the week before the race, with race-morning pickup available as well.
