About the Cape Canaveral Reindeer Run 5K

The race starts and finishes at a park right on Ridgewood Avenue. The course runs on open roads, so local traffic and residents share the space, and volunteers are posted along the way to keep things moving. Dogs on leashes are welcome, which gives the morning a neighborhood-walk feel alongside the racing.

This is a cupless race, so bring your own vessel for the water stops. Packet pickup runs the day before at the community center on Orange Avenue. On race morning, a nearby elementary school serves as the parking area, with volunteers directing traffic in from Washington Avenue.

Common Questions About the Cape Canaveral Reindeer Run 5K

Will I finish last at the Cape Canaveral Reindeer Run 5K?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.1 Miles field finished slower than 39:47, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:13:52, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Cape Canaveral Reindeer Run 5K a good first 3.1 Miles?

A field of 341 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Cape Canaveral Reindeer Run 5K?

The 3.1 Miles winner ran 17:08 while the median finisher took 39:47. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
