About the Candy Cane 5K Run

The course winds through residential subdivisions and into downtown Stevensville on paved roads, staying mostly flat throughout. It is held in winter, so expect cold air and possibly snow underfoot. Costumes are part of the scene, with plenty of people in ugly sweaters, elf hats, and blinking lights, which makes the atmosphere feel more like a neighborhood parade than a plain road race.

The race starts and finishes at St. Paul's Lutheran School, where the gym stays open for packet pickup the evening before and again on race morning. Awards are handed out inside the gym afterward, so there is a warm place to wait while results are posted.
