About the Campaign For Shane 5k

This road race runs through the streets of Owosso in memory of PFC Shane Cantu, a local soldier killed in action in Afghanistan. The course is paved and flat, and the pace tends toward fast. The morning has a clear purpose behind it, and the people who show up year after year treat it as something more than a race.

Packet pickup is available the morning before at the Farmers Market downtown, with race-morning pickup as well. After the race, there is a free breakfast, with donations welcome. Proceeds from the race go toward supporting local veterans.
