About the Camp Letts Turkey Chase Charity Race

This race is held at YMCA Camp Letts and raises money for camp scholarships and facility upkeep. The morning opens with a flag raise and national anthem before the course goes out. Both a longer and a shorter distance are offered, so runners in the same group can split off and meet back at the finish.

Packet pickup opens early on race morning at the camp. An awards ceremony wraps things up not long after the last finishers come in, so there is little reason to rush off.

Common Questions About the Camp Letts Turkey Chase Charity Race

Will I finish last at the Camp Letts Turkey Chase Charity Race?

Almost certainly not. Half the race field finished slower than 38:11, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:10:30, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Camp Letts Turkey Chase Charity Race a good first race?

A field of 290 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first race, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Camp Letts Turkey Chase Charity Race?

The race winner ran 19:29 while the median finisher took 38:11. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
