About the Caleb Smail Memorial 5k
The course starts at Bethlehem Community Park, near the playground, and heads uphill almost immediately onto a residential loop. From there it winds through neighborhood streets, including a long stretch out and back on Chapel Road, before turning through another pocket of houses and looping back into the park. The organizer calls it challenging, and the hill at the start earns that word.
Beyond the race itself, the event fills the park with a cornhole tournament, raffles, and food. Proceeds support a local youth services organization, which is the reason the race exists. The awards ceremony follows shortly after the last finisher crosses, so there is no long wait around.
