About the Byers Peak Stampede Half Marathon & 5K Run
The course runs entirely on dirt roads and trails through mountain terrain, climbing well above the starting elevation before coming back down. The footing is unpaved throughout, so expect loose dirt and uneven ground. Views open up across the surrounding peaks as the route gains altitude. Dogs on leash are welcome, which is unusual for a trail race and changes the feel of the start corral noticeably.
Packet pickup happens the evening before at a brewery in Winter Park, which doubles as a low-pressure way to meet other runners before the morning. If you miss it, bibs are also available at the start line on race day.

The Byers Peak Stampede Half Marathon & 5K Run has been held every year since at least 2019. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Jul 27, 2026.
