About the Buzzard's Glory 5k

The race starts and finishes at Cavalier Stadium, with an awards ceremony held afterward at Coldwater Park. The course is chip timed, and split markers are posted along the way. There is also a shorter fun run for younger kids, making the morning busy with more than one wave of runners heading out from the stadium.

Parking is in the stadium lot on Butler Street. Restrooms and showers are available at the start and finish. Refreshments are out at the finish line, and awards for overall and age group places are handed out at the park once everyone is done.

Common Questions About the Buzzard's Glory 5k

Will I finish last at the Buzzard's Glory 5k?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 27:44, and the last recorded finisher came in around 57:17, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Buzzard's Glory 5k a good first 5K?

A field of 465 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Buzzard's Glory 5k?

The 5K winner ran 16:16 while the median finisher took 27:44. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
