About the Bucks & Does 13.1 Pointer

The course runs through a county park and the surrounding woods, so there is a real chance of seeing deer on the route, not just in the name. The race leans hard into a hunting-season theme, with distance names built around a points system and deer puns woven throughout. The terrain is park trails and open land.

Parking at the park requires a county day pass or annual pass, and both must be purchased online ahead of time. There is no option to pay at the gate on race morning. Packet pickup opens before the first wave goes out, with an early start available for half marathon runners who want extra time on the course.

Common Questions About the Bucks & Does 13.1 Pointer

Will I finish last at the Bucks & Does 13.1 Pointer?

Almost certainly not. Half the 13.03 Miles field finished slower than 2:16:48, and the last recorded finisher came in around 3:01:59, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Bucks & Does 13.1 Pointer a good first 13.03 Miles?

It is a small race (86 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 13.03 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Bucks & Does 13.1 Pointer?

The 13.03 Miles winner ran 1:22:33 while the median finisher took 2:16:48. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
