About the BRRC Beginner/Intermediate 5K Training Program
This is a structured training program run by the Baltimore Road Runners, aimed at getting people ready for a fall 5K. Certified coaches lead sessions covering pacing, running form, hill strategy, hydration, and stretching. Participants self-select their group and can switch at any point, so walkers and runners train alongside each other without any fixed placement.
Sessions happen on weekday evenings at a track and on weekend mornings at a community college campus parking lot. Runners bring their own water. When heat makes outdoor running unsafe, the program shifts to indoor workouts rather than canceling. Cancellation calls go out via the club's Facebook page and email to registered participants.
